MLM Gateway is a social lead generation site that has racked up over 300,000 members (mostly network marketers.)
I signed up for the sake of writing this MLM Gateway review and to see if I can get any results.
I’ll show you what the deal is and whether or not its worth your time and energy.
I’ll also show you:

Let’s jump in!
Here’s The Problem With MLM Gateway
Most people that sign up are only in it to get leads and promote their business opportunity.
Nobody is signing up with the intention of looking for business opportunities to join.
And any leads that do reach out and show interest are most likely bots running on fake profiles.
Within 30 minutes of signing up I started getting these messages:
I did receive messages from real members but they were all just pitching us their deal.
Even if the site generated real business opportunity seekers, I can’t see how an MLM Gateway profile is going to attract them.
It’s pretty bland:
This is not how people join businesses.
Without any real value to offer and without the right network marketing training, you won’t have any luck attracting people to your business opportunity.
Keep in mind that the majority of the people on MLM Gateway are network marketers.
And when it comes to targeting network marketers your best bet is to lead with value, not your business opportunity.
All I’m going for on MLM Gateway is to get visitors to this blog where I provide value.
Unfortunately, the free account doesn’t allow you to add any links on your profile which makes it pretty useless.
The only way to make your profile somewhat useful (without having to upgrade to premium) is to post a few “business announcements.”
These links show up on your profile so at least those who happen to stumble upon it will have somewhere to go.
Let’s look into the MLM Gateway business announcements and see how much traffic you can expect…
Getting Traffic With The MLM Gateway Business Announcements
There are two sources of traffic that you can get here:
- Search engines (Google, Bing, Yahoo!, etc)
- Members on the platform
Now, I’ve yet to post any announcements (I’ll update this post with my results when I do)
However, I didn’t find any articles generating any significant amounts of traffic from Google.
For example:
This screenshot shows a few of the top performing business announcements:
These announcements rank on the first page of Google but only rank for low volume keywords.
They generate about 2-4 visits per month.
Not that great.
In fact, the MLM Gateway site generates about 550 visitors per month from Google:
The main reason is that most of the articles coming from MLM Gateway aren’t that great.
I also don’t think you’ll get any significant amounts of traffic from members snooping around the platform.
At the moment there’s 120 members online and 7 new announcements that’s been posted within the day.
Probably not a lot of exposure before your article gets buried down the pages.
The links to your business announcements on your profile may generate some visits but I wouldn’t expect much.
The best way to take advantage of the MLM Gateway business announcements is to create content around long-tail keywords that get search volume and have no competition.
So you do need to do your homework on keyword research and have somewhat of an understanding with on-page SEO.
MLM Gateway also has a good domain authority (45), so a good benefit may be to get links pointing to content that you’ve posted elsewhere.
Finding Prospects On The MLM Gateway Member Database
If you’re into prospecting network marketers then you’ll find this database very useful.
They have over 300,000 members that you can go through:
You can search members from a country and state:
Engaging with those who live near you is definitely the way to go, it’s a good thing to have in common.
You can also see people who are premium members ($24.95 per month).
These are also people you want to talk to because we know they’re not tire kickers, they’re spending money on their business.
You can also order the list of members by date of registration to view older accounts.
Why go through older accounts?
Well, people who signed up years ago may no longer be a part of an MLM company or business opportunity.
Bottom line:
MLM Gateway is a good place to find network marketers who live within your area.
However, connecting with them on the platform is probably not ideal. Your best bet is to reach out to them on Facebook.
Let’s get into the good stuff…
Finding The Best Leads and Prospects for Your MLM Business
Some MLM companies generate thousands of people who are actively looking to join the business or buy the products.
With a bit of keyword research you can find out exactly what they’re searching for in Google.
For example:
Here’s what I discovered when searching for keywords based around the company Herbalife.
We have 590 people (on average per month) that type “Join Herbalife” into Google:
Here are some similar words and phrases that people search for:
You also have a few thousand people per month searching for a distributor within this company:
These people may be looking for a distributor to sign up under. They could also be looking to buy products.
Speaking of which…
There is a massive amount of people interested in the products.
Check out these numbers:
You also have plenty of people who are ready to buy:
These are the types of people you want coming to your business.
Question is:
Does your company generate them?
Not all companies generate a huge amount of people looking to join or buy, but most of them have people looking for more information.
I have a list of MLM companies that will show you exactly what people are searching for along with the search volume.

Once you understand what your target market is searching for, you can then focus on ways to getting your business in front of them…
How To Get Your Business In Front Of These People
There are lots of ways to get your business up on Google and in front of those looking to join or buy.
I’ll briefly run over a few options…
Cost Per Click (CPC)
This is actually the marketing strategy behind MLM Gateway.
They launched the site in 2015 and have been running Google ads ever since:
Here’s a few of the keywords they run ads for:
- MLM recruiting
- MLM sponsoring
- MLM leads
- MLM lead generation
- Free network marketing leads
In the Herbalife example, you can see the CPC amount:
This is the amount you’d pay Google (per click) if you wanted to be seen as an ad for whatever keywords you choose.
There are probably some MLM companies that are against this type of advertising, especially when it comes to buyer keywords.
Which is understandable.
You’re kinda jumping to the front of the line and getting those who are at the end of the buying cycle.
So you’ll wanna check out your company’s terms & conditions, best practices, or whatever guidelines they have in place.
Organic search.
Google usually shows ads at the top and bottom pages of their search results, the rest of it is organic.
This could be:
- Website, blog post, article
- TikTok, YouTube video
- Social media post, page
- Images, Pinterest boards
- Discussions on forums
- Answers on Q&A sites
Starting your own website or blog and creating content around people looking to buy your products or get into the business is definitely a good strategy.
I have a list of network marketing bloggers who are all over it.

Even without your own site, a social media profile can show up on Google and attract those looking for a distributor.
This brings us to an alternative to MLM Gateway…
The Best MLM Gateway Alternative
MLM forums and social sites have come and gone over the years.
We’ve had:
- Better Networker
- IBO Toolbox
- MLM Social
Unfortunately, there’s nothing really out there at the moment that I know of.
So whats the best alternative?
This social platform has over a billion members (business professionals) in over 200 countries.
Here are two huge benefits:
Your LinkedIn profile can show up on Google for those people who are searching for a distributor:
You can post articles on LinkedIn.
They do have rules and guidelines in place so that members post quality content.
But these articles tend to rank well in the Google because LinkedIn is a high authority and trustworthy site.
I come across network marketing content all the time:
Is MLM Gateway Legit?
At the end of the day, the site is free and gives you access to a big database of network marketers – you can’t complain there.
The fake profiles is disappointing, this is unfortunately a common marketing tactic with lead generation sites.
I’ll also mention that I didn’t use my primary email address when I signed up. I was expecting to be hit with spam and offers from random businesses (It is a lead generation site after all)
But this hasn’t been the case.
I’ve just been getting emails from MLM Gateway:
These emails don’t provide an “unsubscribe” link, but you can easily login and update the email settings:
Is The MLM Gateway Premium Membership Worth It?
I can’t say for sure because I haven’t tried it, but what I can tell you is that it mostly comes down to your offer.
A referral link to a company website is not going to convert anyone on this platform.
But a link to a page that offers value (specifically for network marketers) in exchange for their email address should do the trick.
You then want to continue providing value to those email subscribers.
Later down the track – once your audience gets to know, like and trust you – is when it’s a good time to share your business opportunity.
Wrapping It Up
I hope you’ve learnt a few things within this MLM Gateway review.
